Product Quotes Volume - 1

I’m starting a series of posts listing my quotes as a Product Leader. These are my learnings; they will aim to save you time and help you win big as a PM. Interpret them as you like!

• Sticking with the ‘Why?’ empowers a product leader. Always.
• Take offence if you are called a Project Manager.
• Product Demos should be like a scripted reality show.
• Save people’s time in meetings, sometimes aggressively. They’ll love you for that.
• Never hesitate to create documentation.
• Make metrics your allies.
• Be your champion.
• Clap for your team. It’s okay if you overdo it.
• Humour and Humility with a dash of creativity will set you up for long-term success.
• Begin with ‘measured’ trust.
• Understand the range of your teammates.
• Be brutally honest — Monday through Friday.
• Prioritise stakeholders. You cannot always solve for everyone. Ask yourself — “for this product that we are building, who is our primary stakeholder?”
• Never forget about the customer.
• Avoid prolonged sittings. Save your back!
• Actively seek feedback for your products as well as for yourself.
• Be self-aware, not sensitive.
• Write product blog posts *wink*
